I was really pissed off at Bert for taking the early penalty because it delayed his debut. It was one of those moments where I had to remind myself that seeing #93 on the ice again wasn't just wishful thinking, like maybe it was a highlight from last year. Then I saw the team's play in the first period and it brought me back down to earth. But then, I nearly cried when I saw him out on the PP. Didn't get anything out of it, but we had a few tic-tac-toe passes that looked pretty close to going in. I was even more relieved/joyful when he took a few good shots and had some decent hits, and he looked no worse for wear. I forgot what it was like to have a winger who could handle the puck (cough cough Bert). Z-D-F looked potent & if Dats wants to score off his skates, who am I to judge?

That being said, to answer your request about raising your hand. I kind of feel like the kid who feels like she really should raise her hand because she knows the answer (believes in the team), but is afraid to get called on. The Wings continue to show moments of brillance followed by lazy play. If they sucked all the time, this season wouldn't be so damn frustrating. I agree with D-Mac's statement assessment completely. They need to play better but they have the potential to pull off something wonderful if they put their minds to it. Also, I was really peeved at VS for accusing D-Mac of being a homer in the first place. Hello? You had Darren Pang (who I don't mind), who is the commentator for the Blues, present! How many times did we have to endure "the young kids vs. the old guard" debate? Just goes to show you that even if we're not playing Bettman's golden boys, the national networks still find a way to favor the other team. I'm proud of D-Mac for his statement. You can tell he loves the Wings, but I thought he was doing a pretty good job of being objective.nurse nitzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16448339664113768881noreply@blogger.com
