It's a good thing I saved some lingonberry juice to toast Homer's return for two more years. He comes in with a cap hit of $1.85 million, which is just about perfect. He was my number two priority after Nick Lidstrom, so I'd say this off-season is going about as well as possible. More of my thoughts are over at Chicks.
Now I guess Kenny Holland is going to turn his sights to Todd Bertuzzi. Ugh.
Do you think there is any chance we can sign Zbyněk Michálek? His cap hit for last year was only $1.25 million, and after Lidstrom, Pronger, and Volchenkov, he's probably the best pure shut-down defenseman in the NHL. Plus he's only 27 right now.
ReplyDeleteWell, actually, his cap hit may be closer to $1.5 million. I'm not sure. And he's probably going to get a raise with his next team.
ReplyDeleteSorry, just saw your comments now. I'd be shocked if the Wings signed anyone from outside of the organization. Especially now that Bert's been re-signed. They just don't have the kind of money he'd want. Thanks, Gary.
