1. The Wings have a chance to enter the playoff picture with a win tonight. They also need to start to pull away from the teams below them in the standings, which is almost as important. Can they follow up their latest “statement game” with another performance that brings hope to Wings fans everywhere?
2. Datsyuk roared back with a stellar game against San Jose on Saturday night. He’s been inconsistent all year, with a tendency to fade in and out from game to game. Can he put together another strong performance and start climbing out of Wings fans’ collective doghouse?
3. When is Nick Lidstrom going to score a goal again? It’s been the better part of a decade since he put one in the net, and I’m going to copy/paste this into every GP until he does.
4. What’s Darren Helm going to do to make Wings vans swoon tonight?
I don't think Datsyuk has been in the top 3 of the player of the game txt in voting all season on FSD.
ReplyDeleteHe's won it once, I think. Howie & Helmer have been the more recent favorites on there, as they should be. I don't count Hank unless he has a good game cuz the "fangirls" are always voting for him whether he's doing anything on the ice or not. But you're right, Datsyuk needs to continue to push and step up. He's got no excuse on a line with Hank & Bert. I expect Hank to look better tonight considering it takes him a few games to get his legs back (something that's always bothered me, but when he does, he more than makes up for it), and glad to see Cleary's doing well. The Isle and Canes, while both in the "basement" with the standings, have been performing better as of late, so this is no time to step back. The Kings lost last night, so this is the perfect time to seize the opportunity to get back in the playoff race!
